Creator and maintainer of Engineering Runtime.
Engineering Runtime is an independent software project created and maintained by Kishore Babu Gutta, a platform engineer focused on deterministic engineering automation, platform engineering, and governed AI-assisted execution.
The project is being built to transform reusable engineering knowledge into Engineering Capabilities that humans, CI/CD systems, automation, and AI agents can execute consistently through one trusted Runtime.
A clear separation of responsibilities¶
Engineering Runtime is designed around one boundary:
- Humans and AI assistants understand engineering intent
- Engineering Capabilities capture reusable engineering knowledge
- Engineering Runtime governs and executes that knowledge deterministically
- Existing engineering systems remain authoritative
The caller changes. The execution contract stays the same.
Work on Engineering Runtime¶
Kishore designed the product architecture, Runtime execution model, Engineering Capability model, provider and engine architecture, policy model, documentation system, enterprise direction, and AI-independent execution principles behind Engineering Runtime.
The project is currently focused on strengthening the Runtime, expanding its capabilities, improving stability, and building a public community around reusable engineering automation.
The problem the project is built around¶
Engineering automation is usually implemented several times over — once for the engineer, once for the pipeline, once for the automation platform, and again for whichever AI assistant is asked next.
Each implementation drifts in behaviour, authentication, policy, error handling, and auditability.
Engineering Runtime exists to make that a solved problem: define the operation once, and let every caller execute it through the same contract.

Engineering Runtime is an independent project.
References to third-party technologies, platforms, or products are made solely for interoperability, architectural comparison, or design inspiration. Engineering Runtime is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party organisation unless explicitly stated.
The same applies to AI assistants: the Runtime contract is vendor-neutral, and no single AI vendor is required to use it.
